We had a great time on our recent trip to Texas. We spent the first 3 days in Dripping Springs at Uncle Bill and Aunt Janine's house, and Nana, Grandad, and Johnnie (the kids' great-grandmother) joined us there. In addition to having a blast swimming in their river, we ate tons of good food and got to meet their very sweet dog, Bonnie. Miles had a great time cooking with Janine (I don't think he realizes that he was cooking with a real chef!), and don't miss the pictures of Micah falling asleep while Molly was cooking his lunch one day.
After Dripping Springs, we went to Austin for a couple of days. We took a cruise on a bat boat to see the million bats that live underneath Congress Bridge. It was incredible to see the bats suddenly all begin to emerge at dusk to go hunting. Micah, who was almost asleep by then, stoop up and took notice - smacking Molly's leg and saying "Mommy, bats!" over and over again. Miles had a ton of questions, and lists the bat trip as one of the highlights of our trip.
