We had a great 4th of July this year. We spent the morning at the Kirkland parade. Just like in past years, there was a kids parade first where most kids ride their decorated bikes. Miles was tired, and didn't want to miss out on any candy collecting, so he sat and watched the kids parade this year. But Micah was excited about handing out candy, so he and Molly walked in the parade, and Micah was very adorable handing out candy along the way. Both kids enjoyed watching the parade, but they enjoyed running for candy even more.
We rested in the afternoon, and then went over to Alexandra and Mike's house for a yummy bbq dinner on their rooftop deck. We intended to put Micah to bed before the fireworks began, but he (and everyone else) had so much fun watching Monsters Inc that we didn't make it in time, and Micah got to watch his first fireworks show from the roof. Micah was much more interested in the glow in the dark wrist band we gave him than he was in the fireworks, but what can you do? Miles was amazed that we could see 5 or 6 different fireworks shows at the same time.
